This item from the Society archive is a poster advertising an auction at the St George and Dragon that took place 135 years ago

The Robert Piggott Junior School had a ‘mid-summer celebration’ for several years during the 1980s. A May Queen would be crowned by the vicar, and activities on the school playground included country dancing, and a ‘May-day village sports’

This photograph from the Society archive, is dated June 1st 1931. HRH Princess Mary, (holding the flowers) has come to the Eleanor Wemyss Home to perform the official opening ceremony
